PDF Metadata Editor

Every PDF carries a small set of metadata fields — title, author, subject, keywords — that don't appear on the page itself but show up in file browsers, PDF reader "document properties" panels, and search indexes. Left unedited, these often default to whatever a scanner or export tool auto-filled: a generic "Untitled," the wrong author name, or nothing at all.

This tool loads your PDF's current metadata, lets you view and edit each field, and saves an updated copy. Correct metadata matters more than it seems: a properly titled and authored PDF is easier to find later in a folder of similarly-named scans, search engines can index it more usefully if it's ever published online, and a professional document with the right author name looks more polished when a recipient checks its properties.

It's also useful defensively — removing metadata that leaked from an internal template (an old company name, a previous author who's since left) before sending a document externally.
